The key points at a glance

  • Bar Replay rewinds the chart, and you move candle by candle.
  • Paper trading is an account with play money, practice without risk.
  • Stay in paper trading for a long time, until the process runs by the rules.

Deep dive

Bar Replay: practice setups without knowing the future

In hindsight, every breakout was obvious. Live, the same moment feels different because the right-hand side is empty. Bar Replay rewinds to a historical spot, and you click your way forward candle by candle.

  • Repeat the same spot as often as you like, instead of waiting for months.
  • See a hundred breakout situations in a single afternoon.
  • An edge only needs to sit just above 50 percent plus strict risk control.
  • For clean training, use unfamiliar symbols, otherwise you are practicing clairvoyance.

Paper trading: play money first, real money later

Bar Replay trains the reading, paper trading the execution: real orders in real time with a stop, a target, and a position size, just with play money. The full process under real conditions, without a single mistake blowing up your account.

With real money, psychology joins in. Losses hurt about twice as much as equal-sized gains feel good. When underwater, people pull the stop away, add to the position, crank up the leverage.

The limits of risk-free practice

Take paper trading seriously, precisely because it costs nothing. Keep a small journal and treat the account as if it were real. This exact rehearsal is also what our demo exchange offers you.

  • Without real money there is no real pain, your hands do not shake.
  • That is why you later start small, to train the psychology.
  • Paper orders get filled ideally, without slippage and market impact.
  • Spread, slippage, and funding really eat into the edge.
